It’s an 11 speed mountain bike cassette that fit’s on a 10 speed hub.

Since you'll only be using the high gears, just bin the big set on any 11-speed cassette and add spacers/shims to get the small sprocket aligned with your outdoor wheels so you don't have to trim the dérailleur when swapping.
e.g. CS-R7000 12-25 11-speed becomes a 12-19 8-speed corn cob

Does anyone know Hatfield Forest well? Are there public loos that are likely to be open now?
Looking for somewhere to cycle to in the Sawbridgeworth-Bishops Stortford kind of area that ideally has a loo at destination and is also easily accessible by car. Scenic spot to wait a bonus.

I post images here by linking to images on facebook. They expire after a few weeks. Is there any way to stop this happening?
-
• #105532
Do you mean they expire on F******* or the link here?
If the latter, you could upload them here if you don't mind the forum having them..

This is a well trodden path. Use the LFGSS attachment system, then you can be reasonably confident that your pix will be visible as long as your posts are. If you don't like the LFGSS terms, the only other halfway reliable way to embed images is to host them on a server under your personal control
-
• #105534
Upload them to here or another photo hosting website. I use imgur!
-

another photo hosting website.
Every image host eventually goes out of business or starts charging for the ability to embed images. If imgur hasn't yet, then it's only a matter of time

Henry Moore Foundation is probably closed at the moment but otherwise a great destination in that area.

The gardens are open looks great for another time. Didn't know about it!

I still tend to use desktops/laptops as glorified word precessors,
but,
have never had any word processing training,
so routinely type monthly reports with embedded pictures.Within Libre Office,
imagine a table, (currently in a spreadsheet),
describing the effect of event a,b,c, etc on physical feature x,y,z, etc.I have photos showing the effect.
How best to link the photos to each cell of the table? -
• #105539
Is it to be read on a computer or physical copy? You could hyperlink to the pictures from within the table (ie highlight the text in table, right click - add hyperlink - link to the picture)

Thank you for your quick reply.
I normally send these reports out as pdfs.
[Documents or spreadsheets: 'Export as ....'].I do sometimes use hyperlinks, to, say a folder of photographs.
Is there any way to have a thumbnail show up as the cursor hovers over the cell?

• #105541
This is possible within the PDF spec but unsupported by a large number of readers, and may not be possible to implement within your creation software.

I've got an old lamp with two wires that needs a plug. Ie no earth.
Questions:
- Does it mater which wire is plugged into live/neutral? I assume not.
- What fuse should I use?
- (Bonus) can anyone suggest a sympathetic in-line switch?
Cheers

Tropical fish/aquaria beginner help needed.
Got a tank with substrate (was recently used but needed a bloody good clean) so emptied, rinsed subtrate and filled with tap water adding tap-safe.
Heater on and got the new filter going.
How long before starting to add fish and what ratings on my test strips should I have....Loads of info online between 'don't add fish for 48 hours-don't add fish for 6 weeks' also "don't add fish to a tank until it's cycled" "you need fish to cycle a tank"
My inclination is give it 10 days, test to check no levels are dangerously high then add a couple of hardy fish, (from this point a 15% water change every 10 days) a week later a couple more etc etc and so on.
130ltr tank, plan is for a plea, a couple of corydoras/loaches/barbs maybe, 12-15 tetras and 2 pairs of other fish such as gourami.
Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated -

Electricians, can you help explain calculating PFC? It seems to keep popping up as I need to use it to confirm the size of the CPC with the adiabatic equation.
I thought PFC = U/Zs, but with the examples we've been given, the answers are a bit different.
Also, when we did testing, PFC was either PEFC or PSC - whichever was higher. When you're designing, are you just working off PEFC as it's the CPC size I'm trying to confirm?Say you have a building with 3 phase coming to a DB, which supplies a second 3 phase DB, which supplies a single phase DB - how do I go about calculating PFC at the single phase DB at the end?
EG:
3 Phase DB (A)--------3 Phase DB (B)------Single Phase DB (C)----
Zs@DB=0.09, 0.11, ?
PFC=5kA, 3.7kA, ?I'm selecting equipment for a planned extension, so all the values for the single phase DB (C) and it's supply etc will be based off calculation.

1 - Depends on the fitting. If it's a bayonet, one pin is live, one is neutral. As I understand it, it shouldn't matter. Just make sure if you use a single pole switch, you switch on the line (although the one below is double pole, IE switches line and neutral).
2 - 3amp would be fine, I=P/V, so if it's a 50w bulb, it'll only need 0.2A of current.
3 - This looks nice/vintage https://edisonlightglobes.com/Shop/shop/hardware/plugs-and-switches/black-10a-inline-switch-240v-2/Also, if it has a metal case/exposed metal bits, I'd probably add an earth.

it's been a while since i had fishchat but i reckon 10 days is more than enough time. Check your PH levels (7 is about neutral) and make sure your plants / rocks / snails are well established before adding fishies. You can always chuck in a few cheap mollies / guppies to canary the gaff before stocking it with more spenny residents.

thank you - yes the choice of fish in or fish out! got some seemingly sound advice of whack some safe start in to get the cycle happening and by the weekend after next it should be ready to start adding half a dozen small schooling fish etc then go from there....our last venture into tropical fish ceased when the baby was born - wires, water, crawlers - but hoping this is more successful with greater longevity. I remember we added plants last time and the tank filled with snails very quickly so we got clown loaches to control them, which they did BUT they also terrorised other fish!
Many thanks

Does anyone know what size axel bolts goldtec hubs use please?
-
• #105549
yeah i keep meaning to get back into it, it's not like i have a reason not to!
be careful with snails - zebra snails (google for sciency names) are probably your best bet as they are unlikely to breed in your tank so long as it's clean.
i think you can soak / rinse your plants in salty water to kill off any unwanted snail bastards. google is your friend.

M6 front and M8 rear IIRC
My bike is 11 speed. R8000. I want to recycle an old wheel I have and use it on the turbo. Would an 11-28 work? Whats different with an 11-34. Assume just won't use the 34. Anything changed with the spacing between the rings?
