Miyata Century touch of Gold.

Hello from Greece, still working on several projects thanks to the lockdown () I found my self another one which needed desperately my need. It was a Miyata century a Japanese carbon aluminium frame with gold plating lugs celebrating the 100th years of the Miyata company. Only 100 frames were made and I couldn't resist
The bike was missing several stickers, some bits and chips of paint missing so I will manage to replicate and restore. as close as possible adding just for the luxury a DA 7400 which I will buff and partially gold plated it.

Frame is now on my dearest friend/restorer/painter.
Parts of the groupset has been carefully dismantled buffed and sent for gold plating processing. Reverting upon finish stay in touch.

Finally my frame restored and groupset has been finished and partialy gold plated. It was very challenging as shimano consist of tiny multiple pieces it not so easy as campagnolo to take out and put it back together. After lot of hours I have put it to its original state fully functioning. At least the result justifies my work

This is a really amazing work. Could you tell me approximately how much does it cost to plate a Groupset? Why didn't you went for full plated headset? What kind of wheelset do you have in mind? That's definitely the kind of bike you can't leave on a pole while making groceries haha

Hello many thanks for your good words.Approximately it depends for 100-160 Euro and say depends i mean regarding the number of pieces to be Gold plated.For the wheelset i will go to a nice pair of CXP30 mavic laced to DA 7400 hubs which are already in the way.I didn’t want to go full for the headset the lettering its not engraved like Campagnolo’s
