I’d also be keen to hear about XC70s, if anyone has any info?
Any guidance on things to avoid? V2 or v3?
Any particular engines to avoid? T6? D5?Many thanks

The one I’m looking at is a D5, but even those are quite thirsty, 180+bhp though

What do you wanna know?

Dull question time: I'm hopefully getting a dog soon. I've got a Volvo V70 so plenty of space for said dog and related gubbins. Is it worth getting a boot liner? I've seen a few with a rubber extension to cover the bumper to make it easier to get in and out which seems like a decent idea.

Not from personal experience but it's my understanding they're similar quality, just depends if you want an estate or SUV

Get!

Haha, no means or need for it, but damn I love that. Such a nice looking car .

the dog will fuck up your car. get every protection possible, or a specific dog car

Ha ha, solid advice! Boot liner it is.

Yes, get out. I had a tailored one in the Scooby with a fold down flap which covered the rear bumper. Very handy thing to have.

colour a bit mad though do love the aesthetic overall. And always loved the rear light clusters on those and the mk I granadas

Wow, haven't seen one of those since I was a kid...

Just ordered one with all the bells and whistles. £50 to stop my car getting trashed seems reasonable.

Got the Charger vibe going there

Any idea which shops would stock an inline fuel filter like this:

Euro Car Parts or GSF maybe?
-
• #59695
No, they don't stock anything like that as it is a Motorbike filter.
Could try halfords see what bike filters they have, or a motorbike shop.

I'm not so familiar with Volvos particularly, i'm mostly interested if i should be put off by the mileage. They both have full service history though. I'd rather not buy something thats going to shit an auto box and need 5k of repairs

Wemoto?

I believe the 4wd volvos of that vintage have a tendency to shit centre diffs.. A friend had a relatively new XC70 which dropped the drivetrain onto the road in the middle of nowhere.
The aisin auto boxes in that period of volvos are not part of the volvo service schedule with the usual results. I drained the fluid at 70,000 miles on my s60 and it was black and smelt burnt.

Interesting thanks, I'm not sure which box it has, the XC90 is a newer car (2013). I don't mind changing the trans fluid as a precaution.
The only other common issue i can find is injectors on the diesels which cost 1200gbp to replace

What i really want is a passat alltrack TDI with the DSG gearbox, but i can't find one currently
Also found the V5C, which I thought I'd lost.
