• Anyone know the area?

  • Ask Patricia?

    Sorry, couldn't resist :)

  • lived there for a year and now in stratford..... 5 mins away

    it's fine
not one of the most historic or cultured boroughs but it is relatively cheap, nothing standout but you'll find quiet streets loud bars and green parks much like any other borough, try and aim for somewhere on a bus route to stratford and you've got a whole load more amenities and transport

  • Thanks for the input @dicki . Good to know. Been offered a room there and just scoping things out.

  • Moved to East Ham last month,
    pleasantly surprised that I have
    my own diner, downt road
    ..class

  • So a year on, and in these exceptional times stuff I notice at my ends.

    1. Sourdough loaf baked on the premises Central Park cafe - £3.50
    2. Joggers out in all weathers, all seasons
    3. Mum’s pushing monkey’s worth of pram around the park
    4. Every street has at least one fixer up going on
    5. Betting shops closing down
    6. BMW X5 and Range Rover Evoque vehicle of choice

    Are these signs of gentrification?

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Yes
    4. Yes
    5. Yes
    6. No
  • I’ve also noticed, Labrini on offer at Savers for £1.80 in High Street North. So perhaps some way to go, before we have a majestic wine or fancy off license here.
