External ssd recommendations ? I’ve just had a 3rd one die in as many years, luckily recovered 90% of data but it would be nice to have one that lasted more than a couple of years. LaCie, Seagate Adata all failures...

I’ve been using external Thunderbolt 3 caddies with Samsung NVMe M.2 drives inside.

Cheaper than off-the-peg SSDs, much faster (I get ~2.7GB/s read and write with a Samsung 970 inside) and the alu case dissipated the heat much better than a T5 which ends up throttling very quickly.
