Do you have any pics of the bike you built?
-
• #1303
Don't think I have any pics of it built but I have some of the frame. Fork is a Steamroller fork with added brazeons.

I love that rear fork idea so much.

If you use SKS mudguards you can use their “secu-clips” (that normally only come with their front mudguards as a security measure against snagging something) as a quick release. This is what I have done on Purplebob™️. It is not sexy but this is not necessarily the sexy bike thread.

Nice work. I too like the rear fork idea. Cracking paint job!

Cheers, I used almost the same crown as the Surly fork up front uses.

Think someone already posted it in here but I modified my road fixed into something very similar...

What’s the clearance like at the seattube?
It was actually good, chainstay isn’t too bad either, just the brake bridge limited it.
Fork isn’t great either. It’s enough for 32mm but 35-37 may be a squeeze.

ooo it comes with a mudshelf

@edscoble- thanks for putting your build of he Brother on here, I have always regretted selling my OG Day One with canti brakes and was contemplating the All Day as a replacement.
as said before the proportions look odd- I thought the TT would be short and you saying that it's not as exciting as a Steamroller have properly made up my mind to get one of those or keep scouring ebay for old Day Ones.

as said before the proportions look odd
its because Ed bought a wrong sized bike

What do you mean by 'soft', is it flexy??
-
• #1315
Actually no, I’ve been riding the Seta as my actual road bike that react at the slightest input.
The Brother I can just really relax and let the bike take the vibration, hence feeling soft. Even inflated the tyres to 80psi (32mm) thinking it felt too low cause of this

It’s the 60cm model, I purposefully got a size bigger to get that “too big a bike” look of the 1950’s cyclist.

A puncture lasts a few minutes.
I’m gonna quote you on that next time I ride with you.
-
• #1320
I would prioritize a good mudguard line over being able to remove the rear wheel easily.
Absolutely. Priorities and all that.

that “too big a bike” look of the 1950’s cyclist.
That implies a low BB though, which your bike doesn't have.
-

It’s much lower than my Seta which was a nice change, was a pleasure just being able to put my foot down in traffic!
It still got too much seatpost showing if compared to bicycles used by the Roughstuff Fellowship.
