Guessing that didn't sell...?

My BB58 is going to Tudor for repair under warranty. Not even 1 month old, still with stickers. It doesn’t always engage to the first position when unscrewing the crown, the winding feels stiff and the rotor spins when winding the watch. Apparently common ETA 2824 problems. Interested to see how quick they’ll be able to get it fixed.

I thought Tudor now had in-house movements, as part of their push upmarket? Or is it only some models?
-

Yeah it does. I’m just saying these problems were apparently common on the ETA movements. I think I even had that same problem on Christopher Ward diver (Sellita/ETA). Tudor says it needs repair, CW said all is good.

My TF Smiths PRS 29 is getting pretty low power reserve. Barely getting above 30 hours. It's never been where it should be for the movement anyway ETA 2801. It's within warranty - worth pursuing? When I raised it before the response was quite dismissive.

Whilst Eddie makes fantastic watches, and is fine when things are as expected, is somewhat unpleasant to deal with when things don't go to plan.

Why not post a new thread on his forum and ask if other owners have the same issue?
-
• #49234
Nothing yet. I'm lacking enthusiasm for selling watches.

Ha, don't blame you.

It is only some models, but the BB58 is an in-house movement. The BB36 et al are still ETAs though.

Regarding the Timefactors chat upthread, I've heard that Eddie's customer service can occasionally be rather stereotypically Grumpy Yorkshireman, but I have to say I've never had cause to complain.
I managed to brave the quirks of his ordering process and order one of these on Sunday, which arrived today; it's really rather nice:

Very nice.
Also @inchpincher - that Omega looks amazing.

The second hand on my TF Everest has corroded slightly (after it was already replaced once), I really can't be bothered to raise the issue with Eddie to try and get it resolved. It was annoying and frustrating to get it fixed the first time and doing it over again it will just detract from my enjoyment of wearing the watch. It's much easier to not look too closely at the hand and get on with life than have another argument with him.

I'm really quite bummed to hear about these timefactors experiences. What a shame!

Wow that’s a beauty

Yeah, I suspect he's hit that awkward point for a small business where he's too successful for one person to manage, but not quite big enough to support the extra people he clearly needs (at least in his own mind - the fact that he's selling hundreds of watches in about five minutes every time he opens his online shop suggests he probably could?).

TBF, it’s something small company need to do; have a customer service roles.

Bingo, the TL:DR version.
The company I worked for almost did the same. Fortunately they thought this out and now have human resource, support, customer service etc.

I keep swinging between:
‘An actual sub would end my watch search’ and ‘bollocks it would and why do you want to pay 20x as much for 10% more watch?’

That one survived the new kitchen sale then! What did you get rid of?
