That's a good point. I don't get rear punctures that often though and I appreciate the look of having it close in. As it's a track bike and has no eyelets there is no fuckin way I'm adjusting the rear guard for a puncture.
A puncture lasts a few minutes. A #tukt guard lasts a lifetime.
I don't need to take it out, and you don't either. The wheel only comes out when the tyre is deflated, but that is fine because the only time I need to take the rear wheel out is when there is a puncture. Then I patch it, give a tiny bit of air, squeeze it back in and then finish filling it with air in situ.
Which means you could make your rear guard even more #tukt
