It's easier to buy the pipe lagging material that's already split along the length. Then gaffer tape and in my experience it's unlikely to get stolen.

ooh thats a long looking link

What’s a fair price for these Campag Veloce 10sp shifters? The levers look a bit worn (from gloves rubbing) and slightly scratched but no visible dents or cuts or other damage.

How are people protecting their freehub splines?
I’ve got the correct torque on the cassette bolts but I always need to remove the sprockets individually with two chain whips. I tried flooring staples between the cassette and the freehub splines, which looked like it would work but they corroded and fell apart as I removed the cassette. Im talking about ultegra/105 10/11 speed cassettes.
What is the best method? Or are all alu freehubs considered a consumable?

Yes. They should be considered "For race use only", as you give up a lot of durability for a very small gain in performance

I need a mains adapter for this http://www.lcdcontrollerdiy.com/2015/09/02/njy-2662-controller-board/
Coincidentally I have one from something else that works so I know it's 12V, 2A with a positive inner and I should be able to measure it when I find my vernier gauge.
So the question is where can I plug all that info in to buy one? Any suggestions? Cheers

two questions
we want to record a little spoof radio show for a friends 40th - so some songs, interlinked with a few bits of chat.
I have Audacity to record the inbetween bits, and can probably join them all together with mp3 song tracks, but is there anything better out there for this?
Then secondly, we plan for an hour long show. How can we send it to them, assuming after zipping it will still be too big to email.?

How can we send it to them
Wetransfer
For what you want I think basic audio editing software (audacity) will prob be fine. if you already know how to use it then even more of a reason to not bother looking for an alternative

Put it on Youtube as private or use google drive or whatever.

• #105463
ive foud a good youtube video on using Audacity, so will stick with that

Zipping something that’s already compressed as MP3s won’t make it significantly smaller, although it might be useful to bundle multiple files together.
If you post them a USB stick, then they’ll have something to unwrap.

E-Thru axles...?
Budget build with a Serious Grafix Elite frameset, which came complete with thru-axles.
Hub sizes required are 12x100 front, 12x142 rear.
(Original wheels spec: Alex Boondocks 3 TLR, 24H, QR, F:12x100/R:12x142)I was about to order this Shimano RS171 Disc Wheelset, when I saw it says "Axle Type: E-Thru".
I can't find much simpleton-level info on e-thru axles and their compatibility.
Will these wheels fit my 'standard' 12x100/12x142 thru-axles ?Many thanks.

Will these wheels fit my 'standard' 12x100/12x142 thru-axles ?Yes, the holes are the right size, you just need the through bolts which match your frame and fork threading, which you already have.
E-Thru is 90% Shimano being dicks and coming up with a name for something which doesn't need another name, and the other 10% is that they put a QR lever on the end instead of a bolt head, so you don't need tools to take your wheels out.

Did not seem to have an answer on another thread so trying my luck here:
Does anyone have an idea of the recommended torque to install a crankset on a square taper BB?
Install it by feel usually but seem to have overtorqued the last one as crank arm is more engaged on one side so after a reference value for next installation. -

Edit- reading comprehension. -

I am not sure I understand the answer, so maybe I did not formulate correctly but if anyone have an an idea of the recommended torque for the M8 bolts to install a crankset on a square taper BB, could they tell what is the recommended value?
-
• #105471
Yep, was looking for a link for you, I’d misread your question and answered the torque for a BB.
35-50Nm, so a good amount of power to generate with a 10” Allen key.

Thanks, that is interesting.
I contacted the crankset manufacturer directly that handed me a document where it states "left arm (shim) 12 to 15Nm", I suspected it was for hollow BB and not square for the mention of left arm only and much lower torque compared to what I came across from Parktool or other sources (which seem similar to what you posted, around 35 Nm), but when I raised the interrogation on is it really 12 to 15 Nm, manufacturer did not answer back.
35 Nm seem to be a value that is recommended on several places so I guess this will have to do...!
thank you for the help -
• #105473
Cheers. Like you said, 12-15 is the torque for pinch bolts on left-hand hollowtech cranks.
-
• #105474
That was my thought. Many thanks!
