Very very nice Flying scot Continental model.
To small for me and its 340 miles away. -

Old French stems are 22mm and fit. Try a Philippe ATA/ATAX death stem if you get stuck.

Thanks for the tip, I'll take a look at them.

I'm after a replacement BB axle for a Bayliss Wiley oil bath BB and wondered if anyone has anything rattling around in their parts bins to sell or swap for mine.
It's 53 mm between bearings and standard BS dia. (15.8 mm)
The one on my bike is a rather racy L = 122 mm but the crank arm strikes the chainstay so I'm looking for something longer on the DS (e.g. 130 mm ish).
I'm sure I could get a new one but would prefer something a bit more period-correct if possible

I've got a Bayliss-Wiley No 23 you could have but think this is only about 125mm, So might not be long enough.
It looks like a BW No 14 would be ideal as they are 129mm.

Bayliss no 14 available or a mega long unbranded axle. It needs cleaning up though.

A No. 14 sounds perfect - I'll drop you a PM

Thanks for the prompt response and offer - I think the 14 sounds like the best option

I've got a full nos oil bath BB that you'd be be welcome to. Not after anything for it. Pretty sure they're a different spacing between the shoulders. Let me find it and measure it up.

That’s a very kind offer, but too kind I think! The bike is a bit ratty and the spec too crap to merit NOS vintage parts. I’ll stick with @falconvitesse offer of the No 14 and one day there’ll be someone who really needs it for an epic project

You'd be doing me a favour. My house has slowly become full of bike parts over the years. Currently trying to declutter.

It's really nice isn't it and I've stopped myself from putting in an offer :)

Saw this too. Thankfully lack of money at the moment means I couldn't snap it up! (which would have caused me to be in trouble)

Hi @7ven.
No I have my eye on another frame, which isn't a bargain at all, if anything it's over priced with the wrong forks and no paint. My sensible head.is saying no, however I'm struggling to leave it be.
Will keep you updated. -

Thanks for sharing this, enjoyed reading through the retrobike thread. Many of the highs and lows of effing about with vintage bikes! Seems pretty standard to get your plans straight only to find something like the bottom bracket is incompatible with anything you want to do :)

Leave it!

In case you missed this, it blew through ebay like a puff of smoke yesterday
I managed to get an offer in but another higher (at $275 I think) was accepted. I'd venture that's on the low side! @7ven (or anyone else) is that an original Lytaloy axle, do you know the stamping?

Anyone have a stem for sale to use with a headclip?
