  • I suppose it's possible that these hipster tyres churned out white label by second & third tier manufacturers are better than Schwalbe, Conti etc, but probably not $85 dollars better.

  • Artisanal hand applied squint logos though - collect 900000 instapoints

  • They’re made by panaracer, no?

    Not my cup tho.

  • No doubt a bit expensive but no different to something like WTB.
Did you hear enve are now 'making' tyres from no one's favourite manufacturer Tufo?

  • Absolute waste of money in a consumable. They look like WTB with a different thread. Bonus points for commuting on them at a too high pressure and make them bald in 2 months.

  • Must be a windup

  • 650b x 47.99

47.99? pretentious bollocks, get to fuck

  • just read the copy that goes along with these and now I want to kick someone in the balls

3D diamond file tread massages granular terrain for perceivably 20-30% more traction than a slick.

Continuous center negative dark space aeronautic deltas for pure intoxicating SPEED.

    maybe a really hilarious parody?

  • I think it's self-aware, but the price isn't.

  • I spoke to someone who runs these and asked him more about them and he was embarrassed / ashamed he had bought them... they look pretty cool on his rig tho ...

    🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Schwalbe Kojak in 26x1.5 if you can't squeeze 26x2.0 in? They're great on gravel and stand up well to some gentle off road in the dry, the folding ones are also very light and no more fragile than the wired ones. Mud or wet grass is "interesting" though.

  • the kojaks slickness looks "terrifying" ... :/

  • he has been strangely silent.

  • A kojak is predictably sketchy off road. Far from ideal. But it’s just about possible to ride tracks and bridleways if it’s dry and not very steep. If it’s damp, forget it.

Something like the g-one Allround would be nicer off road and about as fast on-road but not as tough or high mileage.

  • Yeah g-one would be perfect but they don’t do them in 26” ... realistically tyre should be 38-40c to fit on isen and there isn’t much that fits the bill

  • I have issued a lifetime ban on hipster tyres. Schwalbe has all bases covered. My new bike is getting Kojak with tubes.

  • they don’t do them in 26

I’m surprised. Schwalbe average about 3k versions of each of their tyres.

  • i just got some of the new g-one speed super grounds. unfortunately they are very heavy and according to brr are apparently quite slow to boot. i wish they'd make something like liteskin (i guess now super race) casing high volume gravel/road tires.

  • I love them for road commuting on the Inbred. I've just bought another set of the skinnier wired ones because I took the 2" folding ones to Oz for my old MTBs there. Bridleway use all depends on how fucked the bridleway is and if it's damp.

  • This is why we run 650b on Kat's small Isen instead of 26" or 650c. There's a much greater choice of tyres and there's enough clearance for the slightly larger wheel.

  • More 584 than 559 tires?
    Times have changed.

  • yeah it's hard, i currently don't have a wide enough 650b/c rim (that also has front thru axles to fit a wider tyre.

but the isen folks are pretty adamant that it throws off the handling. So my current setup of some dt-swiss 650 wheels with 30c g-ones is meant to be 'optimal' ... and they insist going 26" for anything wider.

but perhaps I will find some adapters for my novatec wheels (from my surly, fitted with 38c g-ones and give it a whirl).

ps. I saw the Isen crash over on the isen thread hope rider/bike are okay!

  • Thanks, yeah she came away pretty unscathed. The bike is with Isen for a damage report.

  • Think of the likes tho ...
