And yes those Max forks could probably fit 42's!...its the rear that's the squeeze. And even if you can only fit 25's I think those fitted with the newer wider rims still make a noticeable difference and improvement over the older narrower rims. I've got some old Croc D'Aune hubs built up with some new wider Pacenti Brevet rims fitted with 25's on my 753 Merckx, and they fell much nicer than the Chorus/Open Pro's I'm used to.

Will see if I can push from 25 to 28 on my Concorde. Though I have just been gifted a very old carbon frame so that might be getting the MGOOF treatment instead
