Nice, looks like a reet barrel o laughs.
Are those rims crabonz?
-
• #3813
Thanks guise! Rims are lightbicycle flyweight carbon with 12k weave.
Its excellent, took it out for 30-ish miles of ‘gravel’ yesterday. Amazing fun. I have no idea why i was getting anxious on Layhams as a roadie all these years. Loads of traffic yesterday; stayed away from all of it. I still dont think i will have skills to do these rides on drops though.
If anyone cares bike weighs 9.85kg.

Hi, please could you give me the ID of the front cable hanger? Looks much better than the basic tektro or is it only the angle?

I’ve changed it to one of the Paul Components ones.
edit. The one you've got a photo of looks like the Nitto x Fairweather one.

Doesn't matter, you'll be dropping us on the fast sections anyway with that Trek!

Thanks, the Paul one looks good.
Yes it's the nitto fairweather, and that's what I meant by a pain to source... Can't be asked to order from US or Japan...I've avoided having a hanger and ordered this, in silver. Doesn't give me utter confidence but will give it a go...

Personally I found ordering from Japan or US for these kind of parts is pretty straightforward. Normally postage is pretty quick. Only risk is customs fees.
The fairweather one would be nice for DBAD as it’ll match the simworks stem and spacer diameters but it looks a bit more flexy than the Paul one.
No idea about that hanger you shared in terms of performance. Never seen one like that before.

It looks good but fork mounted hangers will improve the braking and prevent judder. Do you find the Tektro ones that offensive?

It's going to be really interesting for all these types of parts in future- HMRC require overseas vendors to register (which costs around £1,000/year) and then pre-pay the VAT to HMRC for these small items.
It’s what a builder friend recommended to me. And he knows I hate heights so want something that feels sturdy.
