  • ^ V4 measures those surely, not V1?

  • ive seen this already, but can you see how much the size varies compared to a normal track bike?
normal sizes are in increments 1cm per size and come in 4-5 sizes. ie 51-52-54-56-58 etc

theres a 4cm between the M and L and 6 between small and medium..... not really a normal size.
i dont have the luxury of walking into WBASE or KingKog to try sizes out, thats why i am using the forum to ask.
I want to know the difference geo between the v4 and the v1
    How does a long v1 compare to a L v4?
    etc etc.
my size would be a 57cm squared traditional sized track frame

  • You owned one already?

  • reply with answers not questions

i have a brand new v4 but i have not built it up yet due to sizing confusion...

  • thats nice! hows the short stem? and

whats the seat tube size in cm?

  • @gubhi hi there, sorry for late reply..

I’m the lucky owner of 2 large V1. @swedeee’s ex bike, I got the other one from the first owner, was neon orange originally, unfortunately the guy had it repainted in mat black at some point..

Here attached is a picture of the Medium V1, large medium is what they called at the time the « 50cm »

Meaning that seat tube (A on schema) measure was 50cm C to C

And effective top tube (B1) go to 58cm if I remember correctly

Personally I’m 191cm tall and Large frame fit me great, but before get my frost V1, I was riding a 46cm V2 (still owning it) without real issue..

  • The previous photo is poor quality for some unknown reason but here’s another. This is a size large
I have a 32 inch inseam and I’m 6foot for reference on fit.
My bar tape needs changing but I’m used to the deadlocks

  • Has Prototype flat rat stem made in USA and original bar ends also made in shop. Serial #145. If you want the frame set it will come with wheels, fork and Chris King headset for I have no use for them. if interested I also have paul components short levers I bought for the build. Saddle, Stem and bar ends only go if its bought as complete.

Lovely V4 mate as with all your Brooklyns!
Just wondering how you’re finding the v4 and if there any good/bad/interesting points about it? I’ve been thinking about getting one but have to justify it somehow ;)
Thanks and hope you’re well and safe cycles. T

  • the good points are that it has canti brake mounts, it has a 27.2 seat post. It feels fast and stiff but very comfortable on the road.

bad points are that its not made in brooklyn, if you care about that and it does not come with a seat clamp, or headset. they're both sold separately and if you get both, they will come imported from japan or usa, with a price above 100£
it does come with the cantilever bosses though.
Id rather have a headset and a seat clamp than the bosses tbh.

  • Appreciated and apologies for the late thank you.
Great run down, kind of thought as much. Didn't realise HS and clamp didn't come with, that's a bit tight! It definitely gives more options with brakes and bottle bosses but not sure I'm there yet. Thinking I'll get them braze ons onto the V1 if ever needed or have the geo rebuilt in something nice and light. Saying that it's only me trying to justify not buying a v4..! Mate thanks again and keep the collection going, it's awesome. T

  • V4 L
    It's a pleasant bike.

  • And a slightly better pic of my ex-wife.

  • it's a separate committee who deals with that

  • With a yellow SLR - That's my friend's ex-wife (@kerma) !

  • Was never to keen on the unicrown design compared the V1 and V3/4 fork but this is amazing
