• Hi. A crack has appeared on the seatpost clamp of my titanium frame. It actually appeared two years ago, so think the situation is quite static, but I'd like to get it resolved as I want to change the seatpost and feel a bit uneasy about it.

I have spoken to the frame supplier (a very nice man called Mark from http://www.habcycles.com, would highly recommend them) and he agreed that there are 2 options:

    • get rid of the tabs, grind it down and go for a collar
    • fix the weld

As he's in Arizona I am looking for someone in London to do this, give a rough indication of price of both options and to recommend what's the best way forward.

    Thanks.

  • @ectoplasmosis had some titanium welding carried out recently. Have a look at his sexy AF titanium MTB build thread.

  • I had disc tabs welded on to my frame by Patrick at https://limitfabrications.co.uk/

He did a really good job and takes on Ti repairs.

He’s based in Norfolk; I think you’ll struggle to find anyone to take this on near London.

  • Thanks! Link to the build thread please :)

  • I'll get in touch with Patrick. Given current travel restrictions, if anybody has anyone nearer to London suggestions most welcome as well.

I’d highly recommend getting in touch with Limit. You could post the frame to him.
