Kind of, not sure I did it very well, but the food sat there for a couple of months and didn't go mouldy. Not sure I see the point now unless you have to keep your waste indoors, I've taken to just chucking the food in the same 25l tub with a grit guard, mesh and drain tap and taking it down to the allotment pile every so often. Only composting uncooked food and bread now.
On a compost theme, anyone made a bokashi heap or tried bokashi compost-making before?
