Which I think is stupid because your wife could have had a bad test, a false negative or not be shedding enough virus to test positive yet (although I understand that is unlikely if she has symptoms). Other parts of the world require 2 negative tests a few days apart.
That's how I read it too. You are isolating your daughter based on you thinking your wife's symptoms are Covid. If the test shows they are not, then there is no other reason to isolate your daughter. Except for the potential of a false negative, but what are you going to do.
