• I think your daughter can go back to school if your wife tests negative.

    Which I think is stupid because your wife could have had a bad test, a false negative or not be shedding enough virus to test positive yet (although I understand that is unlikely if she has symptoms). Other parts of the world require 2 negative tests a few days apart.

  • Yes, I'm pretty comfortable that she hasn't actually got it, but we are erring on the side of caution as she is a teacher.

    Thanks, that makes me feel better, that daughter could go back if we get a negative, now just to see how long the result takes to come back.

  • That's how I read it too. You are isolating your daughter based on you thinking your wife's symptoms are Covid. If the test shows they are not, then there is no other reason to isolate your daughter. Except for the potential of a false negative, but what are you going to do.
