Question about factory wheels v handbuilt wheels.
I have a pair of Lightbicycle WR38 rims laced to DT Swiss 240 hubs 24/24 with CX Rays and want to use them for gravel. They have a very similar rim profile and identical spoke count to the Bontrager Aeolus Pro 3v wheels which are gravel focussed and have no rider weight limit. Given the almost identical specs am I safe to assume my wheels should be similarly tough and able to handle the rough stuff. FWIW I hover between 76-80kg.
