The rear wheel will look like this if the thief doesn't switch out the back wheel. Hopefully due to lockdown they won't be able to shift it quickly

Could this be it? Happy to help by going to buy it with 'cash' if it is as the bloke says it's available and I can go collect in person

Bike is proper bike is good bike.
Seems alright to me or, indeed, fire.
Gotta be, hints of rainbow there and same tyres. Damn I both hate and love this thread!

Apparently it's already been sold- my friend has been in touch with the police but they're reluctant to do much about it

Argh f**k! I wouldn't believe that its been sold. Has the guy got anything else for sale? Maybe a stolen wheelchair?
So tough to go "down the proper channels". What happens when you tell the police you are going round there, with or without them?

He is saying it is still available - perhaps buyer cancelled or he got suspicious of some people? Could be worth trying again from another account

My bike got nicked at 1.30am this morning from the block I live in (footage from neighbour's ring camera here and here.
It's a 90's red Dawes Galaxy Super Tourist, extra large frame (maybe 20"/21" not sure). Looks like the picture attached (not my actual bike) but I just had new set of dropped handlebars in a slightly more upright position fitted. Other than that all the same as in the image.
Rack is partially held down with some cable ties. There was a hefty yellow Kryptonite attached through the seat tube, with the flat part resting on the rack. That would be a dead giveaway though they'd be able to cut through it after some time.
I know it's not the most expensive bike in the world but I rode it every day and I'm gutted it's been nicked. I've got alerts set on different sites and am checking bikeshd regularly but just in case any of you see it getting sold or something. Any information greatly appreciated!

This is a photo of my bike that was stolen in the last 24hours from Elephant and Castle. It's a Boardman ADV 8.9 2021. It's very new, was locked inside a locked bike shed. Have reported it the police and waiting for the CCTV. If any sees it, please let us know.

Just to update to some posts upthread... A friend found his bike on Gumtree, I checked in on here the latest advice. He contacted police and was assigned an officer, unbelievably. However, they advised he wait a day to arrange to meet, I'm not entirely sure why. By then the bike was sold or pulled out of suspicion.
Part of what the plod said was that it's bdbdbhard to prove the guy selling the bike actually stole it. I don't know. It's a bummer. I'm away in Germany so couldn't help out simply going down and trying our luck retrieving it.
Thanks @PhilDAS and @Rhobbs for replies.
Friend now wishes he had simply bought it back, so I add this to the litany of sad thoughts that make up the bulk of this thread.

Yeah I posted my Brompton for sale on eBay, just PM'd me asking if I could give him serial number so he can check it was his. Was suspicious at first but he sent me pics of his stolen one.
Robbed at knife point too. -

Heads up to anyone not storing bikes inside-inside: my mum's house (and others on her street) was done last night for the bikes, in Putney. She chased the bloke off and he hopped on a moped with my brother's hardtail, presumably to stash it in a van or something round the corner.
They smashed through the side passage door and then cut a motorbike chain, so fairly determined.

I like that idea of a bike lock that if cut releases a smell so bad it makes you vomit.
Ooh nice, keep us posted will ya.
