Must not plant
It's very unlikely someone is trying to spread Japanese Knotweed to fuck with people. It's almost definitely so dodgy Amazon sellers can do a "verified purchase" fake review.

BBC reported it as a fake review scam

Yeah I’d agree but it might be unintentionally problematic.
What I don’t get is why does it need anything in the envelope?? -

lots of this happening in the states, analysis of seeds show nothing malign but wise just to burn them - foreign invasive species etc
been reported over the last few weeks

Extra weight? In case customs opens the packet so it looks legit?

I just don’t get why that detail is needed when there isn’t tracking on the parcels arrival.
Two different packets as well. -

It could be something to do with the Chinese outbound system, their govt subsidises international deliveries so that sellers can charge less than those from other countries. E.g. selling a usb cable for 50p including postage from China. The whole thing could be people scamming the Chinese govt too.

That’s interesting not something I knew.

Update: you will not believe this!
Today they, someone in China, seriously upped their game. Pyjamas have arrived in the post!!
Well that’s what the customs label says, my OH doesn’t want to open it.
So as mentioned in gardening thread.
Today we received unsolicited seeds in the post from China, although think it had some Singapore post marks on it too.
Article on it here; https://metro.co.uk/2020/08/02/why-are-people-receiving-strange-seeds-post-china-are-safe-plant-13072324/
Will report and update. Must not plant hahaha
Anyone else had this?
