  • Looking at this closer I actually think it is a rere.

I think it was acquired in Asia and brought over to the UK. 😎

    The parts are new.

  • Nice :) I'd prefer that over an oldie tbh.

  • It's the brushless that makes the difference. 😎

  • Reunited!

  • Broke out the soldering iron today, new esc/motor wires, and did a general tidying of wiring in general.

  • Looks quick? What stage Lipo u running?

  • It's 10.5 t on 2s. Sadly I don't have a GPS meter, so can't give you a definite top speed, but it's enough for me.
If I can find a 3s with same dimensions as my 2s may give that a go (when I have spare funds).

  • Heh.

    I'm only on 2S with the c9 @ 50kph.

I tried 4S once in my boat. Flipped it straight away! :o$

  • So that's 30mph (more or less), plenty quick enough. Flipping it over is a concern (hence why I don't bother to paint my wings), even on 2s, giving it full beans the front does come up, if I get a 3s I'll stick some more weights on the front end.
Hmm, how does one go about getting a flipped boat back to dry land? At least with a car you can just walk upto it and flip it rubber side down.

  • Yeah. It's a pretty stoopid hobby tbf. You can run them in clubs were they have a boat to retrieve them. I have recently waded out in shallow depths. It has also spent the night on an island in the middle of a lake.

  • Sounds like too much of a faff to me, probably good fun when it goes right though.

  • As this shows u can go all the way up to 6S.

    But it just becomes ridiculous.

  • That looks fairly sedate to be fair. Is that actually 6s in a 1/8th buggy?

  • Yeah. It does seem tame until it self destructs off the ramp.

I guess big wheels and off-road will never get to 100+...

  • I think it gets to a point where you're fighting physics with too much power for the unstable aero and handling in a smaller model, and the easiest thing to do is probably switch up to a larger vehicle to make it more stable. I do find it amazing that people have managed to push stuff that small to 100-200mph on what's basically normal road surfaces!

  • Heh

  • It's an Arma Infraction... They look awesome; I kind of want one but I've got absolutely nowhere where I'd be able to run a road car that fast :)

    Also, they're about £6-700 stock....

  • Silver Arrows. 😎

  • Anyone interested in a little used Tamiya DF03 Dark Impact?, couple of battle scars, scuffs in the usual places.

  • Bit of lock down fun.

    Ordered a 3S for the C9.

Let's see if I can break the 50kph.

  • I reckon there is a bit more but you run out of road pretty quick...
