And they do a fantastic Sunday roast.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this by the way. Nice excuse just to go out and criss-cross the streets and take in the scenery. It does mean some of my errands take twice as long.

Mind you, I haven't been in since before lockdown. :sob:

To find or because of that bastard hill? I live up there and when we moved I figured it'd get easier. It's been three years now...

Tough to find. At first I figured it couldn’t be up a big hill cos you were on your fixie. Wrong. When I realized where it was, I took my geared bike for sure.

Well... even single-speeding it up Elm Grove sounds like crazy hard work. I sometimes ride fixed up the full length of Stanford Avenue, and that's tough enough!

It's not a single speed either - Sturmey Archer S2C. It's a two speed kickback hub & coaster brake.
Just about enough difference for a low gear to make it up Brighton Hills while not too spinny for flats.

I live not far from there, not as far up thpugh. I have to zig zag my way home.

Nice! It's an interesting little corner... very near to the Eagle and the Basketmakers pubs (the latter being my favourite pub in Brighton due to the quality of their Fullers HSB).
