The "Pee tape" could equally have been the "P tape"

The Republicans were happy to surf in the wake of the Tea Party.
That rightwards/anti-establishment momentum
put them in the slipstream of a childish Trump 2016 campaign,
(derogatory nicknames for each other GOP contender). There's no brake system to engage.

This is a really good summary of the situation in Pennsylvania -

I predict 306-232.

Yep, looks likely. Same count as the 2016 election oddly enough!

Lawsuit updates...
On most people, if you hit their patellar tendon with a small rubber mallet, you get a knee jerk. With Trump, it’s possible that if you hit his patellar tendon with a small rubber mallet, you get a lawsuit,” said Justin Levitt, a law professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.

Unsurprisingly he's not doing well.

Indeed, it was Fake News.

It's 2020, but here's the original (with audio and not a dodgy fake smartphone image):-

I agree. That would be not bad.
Then will be interesting to see if the momentum can be carried through to the senate run-offs. To get a majority there would be amazing. -

Think you meant to reply to rhb there ;) My response was about the election result count being the same as 2016
Yeah there was a good response to the tweet with some slow-mo and showed the dodgy tracking.

In PA there were reportedly a hundred Republican challengers in the count (whilst in court they were saying they had none) which descended into them challenging every single mail ballot being counted.

She does have a point though. Talking about defunding the police and being socialists was a gimme for the Trump campaign. So easy to distort what those words mean.
These are the guys who believe that the German National Socialists were Socialists for example.

Regarding the centrist nightmare... The democrats could have easily stalled the confirmation of Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court last week (Republicans stalled in similar circumstances for an entire year). Instead they used it as a campaign driver and will (going forward) have a convenient reason/excuse not to implement minimum wage policies etc. They can’t, it’ll be blocked. This says loads!
AOC and Omar are allowed to call for expansion of the Supreme Court now ... but had their mouths shut when it mattered.
I’m mega cynical but I can see Biden/Harris being massively unpopular (for all sorts of good and bad reasons) but they’re career politicians, difficult to unseat.
-
• #11942
How could the Democrats 'easily' have stalled Coney Barrett exactly? Reps controlled the Senate, which is how they stalled Obama's nomination for nearly a year.
-
• #11943
I missed that, what legal mechanism did they have to block or stall?
I understood it was a "gentlemen's agreement" so pretty useless cos Trump...

I know we've been here before, but they were until they weren't.
Still, anyone saying socialism in the context of the US is smoking Crack.
The only socialist thing you'll ever see there is massive state funding of b/millionaires and subsidies to their companies when they cease to be economically competitive.

I get this - just a bit confused by reluctance to call states where Biden appears to have no chance, while they were happy to call Arizona early. Coops may be right in that they are now regretting calling Arizona - and playing safer now
Too many comments to go through to see if this has been answered but the problem here is that if they call another state they have to call Biden as the winner. If they wanted to call another state and not declare Biden the winner, they have to retract the Arizona call. Rock/hard place situation

But if Democrats quit signalling their alliance with vague and unrealistic social justice campaigns they’d face scrutiny for their actions (or lack-off).

Only Fox and the AP have that problem. No other networks have called AZ.
That leaves: ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Reuters, NYT and DecisionDeskHQ all free to call GA or NV.
(Reuters haven't even called Wisconsin.)

Begin impeachment of Barr, War powers resolution. To procedurally hold-up House and Senate was mapped out, an option and all fair-game.
