Will be like something out Neal Stephenson's 90s work - whoever controls the @POTUS social media accounts is the true president?

It's turning out exactly the way Trump has been saying it will - there are no circumstances in which he will admit he lost. He's been saying it for months and last night's etiolated bullshit was as close to a concession speech as he will get. Even if it goes to court and he loses he will insist he won, he's been making this clear for a long time. I bet he will be the first president not to attend his successor's inauguration.
Many, possibly most, of his supporters will continue this fiction along with him. Setting up Donald Jr as the candidate in 2024. -

I don't think he will. There will have to be recounts in the close states and legal shenanigans alongside those. Even after all that he'll contend it was fixed. But some point McConnell or someone will have to accept that Biden has won and start the transition.
Plenty of nastiness to come before then though. -

This guy pissed me off - hacked Trump's Twitter, did nothing other than tell the WH that he'd done it:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/zakdoffman/2020/10/25/trumps-twitter-hacker-dismisses-white-house-denials-says-he-has-evidence/He could have had so much fun overnight conceding defeat.

Quick way to go to jail if he did anything while logged in, I'll be surprised if they don't try and get the NL govt to charge him with Computer Misuse or something.

The terrible irony is that they all offer false hope and by failing to honestly engage with the complications of the modern world, contribute to worsen our position in it. But people are drawn to them because they seem to be the only voices recognising the genuine fear and disconnect people feel from the world around them.
Applies to popularism left and right. Trump’s 2016 campaign was extremely pro-worker, anti-establishment.

His password was MAGA2020! That has to be a joke. The leader of the free world, goodness knows what Russia has had access to.

Also he had two factor authentication disabled.

While democracts do nothing bold and fear moving away from the centre. So that will demise them forever, lets enjoy the last 4 years of mild democracy.

I think this illustrates why the Republican party has a problem - it is, to many, possibly most, Trump voters, the Trump Party now. The next candidate will be either a Trump or a continuity-Trump candidate.

At least if Trump continues under the impression that he'll still cling on somehow he won't shit on everything in sight between now and end of Jan
