the XD drivers are significantly lighter and no freehub biting
Maybe this kind of setup will take over and in the future (if Trump hasn't nuked us) we'll all be running 15 speed 1x with these style of cassettes.

Everyone forgets to charge Di2, ultra or not. If you haven't yet, you will and when you do, you'll think of me and my gorgeous face and when that happens a kitten will order a mixed doner kebab and when that kebab is finished the holy 1x will be revealed to the earth.
Those people deserve a show!

😂 I have forgotten yes! And it did run out but I was just saying it’s a really niche requirement to want to charge whilst riding

Standert Erdgeschoss released this morning which I maybe should have gone for over the Pfadfinder as it’s stainless with a little more clearance. A bit slacker but even lower at the front for some reason. Looks good too but probably irrelevant as almost sold out already

All about the compact or sub compact x 11 - 40/42/46.... decent top end with proper climbing gears. Can’t help but think 1x on gravel biek only works when you live/ride places with rolling actual gravel roads rather than the varied terrain and the steep tricky climbs found in the #nogravel areas in UK (routes that were mtb in the 90s and early 2000s).
I’m really surprised shimano didn’t launch 10/11-51 GX but we’ll see.

Dunno, everyone different.
I commute on 11-36 with. A 38t chainring, quite a nice jump inbetween gears.

Just set up a Ultegra r8000 with GRX 30-46 chainset and slx 11-42 cassette. All works perfectly- was so surprised - wish I knew before my tour last year.

I bet that’s great around London but a bit spinning at the top? I ran 44 x 11-36 for quite a while and it was ok but a bit of a drag up the hills of Leeds also spinny above 24mph.

Too late
Yeah and my carbon 1x TT ring cost more than that if you want a pissing contest. But this is the gravel bike thread and I clearly showed the parts required for lower gears running 2x cheaper than the 180 quid quoted earlier.
I've said 1x has a place but unless you're riding shit that's gnarly enough (or going for the aeroz) to need to lose the big ring and/or FD then this ain't it.
