  • Anyone on here seen these killbet things that are happening on Twitch (probably also other streaming sites)?

I was fine with the kill-race betting that was happening previously when it was players vs players in the same game, but now it's players against their own chat/viewers betting on x amount of kills in y amount of games, unregulated all through paypal - seems a bit off?

I thought it was bad streamers making more money off viewers (some of which probably aren't old enough to bet) but it's almost gone the other way now with people taking a lot of cash off the streamers!

There's a game on at the moment with £2.3k on the table and they're doing them game after game after game....

  • Pretty much - the viewing is on Twitch, the platform has nothing to do with the betting. The streamers organise the bets via their chat (at the side of the stream) and everyone send the money via paypal.

People set a challenge eg 92 kills in 2 games (meaning total amount of kills the team achieves in two games)
The odds are always 2:1 so if viewers bet £10 and the streamer wins, the streamer keeps the £10. If they lose they pay the viewer £20.

It certainly makes the games mean more but is a bit dubious on morals/legality!
