That Fox is fabulous...

Thanks lad, it was in great condition but ended up selling it cheap to a mate so he could get to work etc, he loves it....
Found an old kirk I’d forgotten about in the shed yesterday when looking for parts. Managed to strip and paint an old dale fork for the klunker/cruiser build. Plan is to use most of the bits off my beast of the east (way too small and I never ride it) for a quick klunker build

That Cannondale is sick!
Mad rimz & Magura combo!

Unfortunately there’s a small crack in one of the rear spokes, just don’t trust riding on it anymore.

Front wheel is even worse. Misses a complete spoke. 😁

But no cracks in the Kirk Precision frame? One of a kind!

P.S. Girvin forks on the Kirk? Nice. As retro as retro can be.

AMP forks?

Thanks for all the 26” wheel set recommendations!
Next question: the brake mounts on the rear are for a u-brake. What are my options? Can I run a bmx brake?

• #2641
You can buy my spare set of LX U brake. 😊

I've been trawling the local gumtree/fb marketplace trying to find something to build a very reliable run around with guards, front rack that I can lock up and not fret about.
Sizing questions for retro mtb: I've 5'5 and the best fitting bike (at least according to my body) that I've ever had is my 50cm Pre Cursa. From what I've read ballpark a 16" frame would be about right?

I'm on the lookout for some silver 4 finger V brake levers, preferably Shimano.
Shout if you have anything suitable pls. -

My 98 Klein Pulse. The frame is amazing. Build isn’t even remotely period correct, so not sure if it belongs here, but I think it’s great!

hey guys, I tried the single speed on my Raleigh Technium but feels like I'd be more comfy with a mono gear groupset.
I see a lot of you having some, any recommendations on something not super expensive that works for commuting? deore maybe? It would be nice to find something cheaper (second hand is fine).
Thx in advance -

I run a 1x8 setup on my commuter (36t front, 11-34 rear) which is pretty good for what I need (max. gradient is ~10%, sometimes I wish I had lower gears when carrying groceries). Mostly parts bin stuff with the exception of the Alivio (?) shifter, which is starting to break after 2k km. If you stay with shimano at/below 9 speed, you can mix and match pretty much any shifter/derailleur combination. I'm not using a narrow-wide chainring, had 2 chain drops since building it up, which is fine by me (I use the small ring off of a cx crankset though, which doesn't have any shift ramps)

thanks! I guess I will do the same and try to find second hand / bin stuff. I'm a bit dumb, I trashed out the shimano old set I had on it. anyway will find something for sure, cheers!
Changed the stem and put on some mudguards for my old muddy fox for a mate.
Bought a retro “looking” cruiser mainly for the retro parts, xtr brake, kooka cranks etc, gonna put the brakes on a cinelli and the cranks on the yeti. Think I’ll keep the frame and put a 1x10 setup on it with some rigid forks and old magura racelines
