  • Anyone got any tips for improving that inner grit you need when pushing. I seem to have lost it lately with no races coming up, the moment I feel I need to cling on for a bit I give up when in reality it’s probably just a small period of pain I need to push through.

  • Find a type of pushing you find fun:
    -challenging terrain?
    -hills?
    -less structured efforts (fartlek)?
    -weight vest?

Also an intermediate, achievable goal helps me, like a recent (last 6 months/quarter/whatever makes it acheivable) pb

  • Hills are a great shout actually, I haven’t been doing them as much the past month or so now it’s getting darker in the evening. I’ll dig the head torch out and head to some trails over the next few nights.

I think chasing PB is probs not great for me as when I see I’m off pace my head drops and I just give in at the moment I’ve been trying to avoid looking at my watch lately and trying to get into the flow. PBs will be getting destroyed in the new year hopefully.
