Is the R8000 rear derailleur worth the extra over an R7000/6800/5800 on a normal road bike? For practical reasons, not buyer logic
The (unofficial) capacity is significantly larger isn't it? To the point you can get away with 11-40. Otherwise they're the functionally the same?
I've got an R7000 rear mech on my gravel bike, with a 11-40 cassette. Works fine without longer b-screw or hanger extender.
With a front double? If so, what chainring count?
(I have 50/34 - 36/11 but was considering larger cassette)
