I got pulled over by the police once on my old motorbike (ZX6R) because it was too noisy (no surprise, it had a whacking great hole in the exhaust downpipe). Luckily I was on my way to drop it off to be repaired (and it was booked in with the garage) which placated them. As we were chatting a HD went past making way more noise than my holey downpipes were making and the copper just said "Cor, look at that, lovely bike."
