Similar idea to Cushcore and Huck Norris I think.

"Hi,
o.k., we've sold a lot of these tires and there have never been any problems.
You can send it back to us, we'll refund the money and the shipping costs for this."They've changed the description at least.

Is that a gravelking? Mine did the same thing, the bubble got sealant inside it and made fart noises as I rode.
-

Nope. WTB Horizon. It makes a noticeable "wump" when riding. These wheels are getting WTB Ventures soon so these tyres are getting retired. The rear is full of oozing cuts but they're both still holding air.

WTB exposure punctured a few days ago. Heard the sound of sealant (muc off) hissing out, then it sealed, then hiss, seal, hiss, seal. Stopped a couple of times to I select and add more air but every time I set off again, it would make it about 10m before hissing out again. Bailed and got the train home.
Inspecting the tire in daylight shows a relatively small hole that looked sealed, and held air when pumped up. So I added a load more sealant, span it, bounced it, etc. Set off for a ride today and within 2 minutes, I'm spraying purple goo all over the road again.
So, shit tire? Shit sealant? User error? All three?
What's the recommended tubeless tire patch kit?

I do have plugs (although not the rubber solution) but the hole is tiny, maybe only 2mm. I'd have to make the hole much bigger to get a plug in it, which feels counterintuitive?

feels counterintuitive
It does, but it's what you need to do.

Been there ! Zzzzzz wtf on the kitchen floor . A tiny hole stuck a plug of that wired sticky string in and it worked . Defies logic 👍
-
• #4111
I'll plug anything that's not sealing by itself. Also, what pressure are you running?
-
• #4112
Have plugged it and it's holding air. Need to take for a test ride though, as it was holding air before and only started pissing sealant everywhere when I was riding, presumably from being squashed when absorbing bumps, etc.
55psi (total weight is probably about 95kg - both I and it are heavy)

Sealant struggles at high pressures, sometimes it's just better to nurse a soft tire home rather than trying to pump it until it pisses out all sealant.
-
• #4114
That makes sense and was very much the opposite of what I was doing.
Plugged the hole and went for a ride last night and all was good.

Does anyone know if these are tubeless compatible?

Damn cheap if they are

Mega dredge, but I have this type setup and it just worked to seat my continental x king and trail king. My sprayer is marketed as a "kingfisher" but there's plenty on amazon.

Does the sprayer head just fit straight on to the valves, no jiggery-pokery required? Got one of those sprayers and thinking about tubeless...could be ideal. Thanks

• #4118
The trick (for me) was you have to remove a tube from inside the sprayer like in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NB08gNYrLhI&ab_channel=BikeDave
On mine, the tube was a bit thin to fit in the handle, but I wrapped some tape around it to thicken it.

• #4119
they're not, vittoria tubeless tyres say TNT on em

• #4120
Cheers, thought at that price it’s be to good to be true

• #4121
OK, why does my one tyre keep going down over a period of hours, and every time I check, the valve is loose, even though just tightened it. Is my wheel haunted.
-
• #4122
Your just squashing the rubber putting it under compression and the thread is backing off.
-
• #4123
isn't the point to put a bit of compression on to get an airtight seal? I'm only doing it up "finger tight"
-
• #4124
That looks genius, thanks. Better get some tyresandvalvesandsealant

Just a word of warning about cheap tyres from PX - I got some trail kings from them and when I tried to set them up I realised that the beads on one side of both tyres were faulty to the point where they looked like they were separating from the rim when inflated, was hardly inspiring, so I sent them back.
Just seen this reply. You got your refund yet? And an apology? Maybe some extra credit?
