  • drive-through... 'against the constitution'.

99% sure drive-through everything is a constitutional right.

  • 94 million votes have already been cast apparently.

  • Literally dying of anxiety over here 😔

Going to do a big food shop later, buy loads of bottled water and pack a go back. I’m sure I’ll be fine but I’m just so fucking nervous that civil unrest is going to be terrible no matter the outcome. Fuck.

  • Hang in there JB - Whatever the outcome, you’re in a good place with nice hills, your partner and a lovely dog! ✌️

  • Let’s just hope that unrest is almost always amplified by media and the vast majority don’t want complete melt down. The press are salivating over the possibility of mob mentality.

    • if it gets real bad, just think about Mont du Chat!
  • It’s important to be hydrated when the junta rolls through.

  • On the night, it's possibly only worth staying up in the slight hope of a Biden landslide or to see Trump trying to call it for himself and stop the counts. Unlikely to be a result, but very possibly the start of a constitutional shitshow.

  • That'll fill me with even more dread! Ha!
But yeah, we'll be okay, thanks G.

  • Yeah, they really are. Seeing lots of shops board up doesn't really help my feeling of angst. Ha.

Especially in the very liberal suburb of South Pasadena (where I am).

  • You reveal your American nature by prepping properly. If English you’d have bought bog roll!

Seriously I understand your concerns, the situation there leaves me feeling anxious. Good luck

  • What time will this be approx? Worth staying up or better getting up early?

  • Never forget. ✊😂

  • I have vague memories of waking up knowing trump had won last time but it could be my memory confusing it with the other recent shit election/ referendum results.

  • A pretty good watch. Not a fan of Vice on the whole but it does show a good diversity of opinion.

Not all trump voters are utterly despicable, who would have thought it.

The rioting and looting as part of the BLM protests have given Trump a massive boost IMO.

  • Brother in law voted Trump which is a bit odd. Seems to be more of a protest against the democrats pushing Sanders, Gabbard etc out as he would have gone with most of the alternative options if the establishment had let them through.

It would be a bit of a strange paradox for him to be racist. I think he’s just a tad impressionable or misinformed and around people that lean right. He’s also nervous about unrest.

It’s like that line: “not all Trump supporters are racist but all racists are Trump supporters.

    Shits complicated.

  • Hillary had conceded by the time we woke (UK time) post 2016 election.

The difference this time is 92m ballots have already been cast by mail or through early voting this time. Most states don’t even start counting these until Election Day (or after). That means it’s super unlikely that post ballot polling or Election Day vote counting will be accurate.

Unless there’s an absolutely colossal swing to one candidate or the other tomorrow, there’s no way we’ll have a concession.

  • I think it was predicted at 6am or so and Trump was speaking at his party at about 8am UK time

  • It’s like that line: “not all Trump supporters are racist but all racists are Trump supporters.

Yeah, but the issue is, anyone who votes Trump is condoning racism. Fact. They might not directly be racist, but they're condoning it.

  • They might not directly be racist, but they're condoning it.

    and the difference is?

  • I mean, yeah, you are right.

But there are always going to be people who say 'I'm not racist' and I believe them. They might not themselves be racist, but through choices they make, they are.

  • Bonkers. Because Labour got rid of Corbyn for Starmer, I'm going to vote Tory?
All personality politics and nothing to do with policy any more.

  • I’m wondering what bookmakers will do, can’t see it being over by Wednesday morning

  • Yeah, I know. It’s stupid and has caused a bit of a rift in their family.
