There’s usually good indications of the final result at at 0200 or 0300 London, but it could be another 2016 where the electoral college is different from the popular vote, or counting could go on through the night.
It could even be a few days before all the votes are counted, especially if there are contested ballots etc.

On the night, it's possibly only worth staying up in the slight hope of a Biden landslide or to see Trump trying to call it for himself and stop the counts. Unlikely to be a result, but very possibly the start of a constitutional shitshow.
