    Not to your person. As with any stationary cycle training device, there is a severe corrosion risk to the bicycle.

  • It's an aluminium Vitus but I hadn't thought about damage from sweat. Having seen the video demonstration of roller crashes I think I'm either back to cycling the streets for exercise or looking at the fixed trainers. I don't have enough safe space to be falling over in.

    The less space the better if you're worried about falling, have something to stop you before you build up any sideways momentum. In reality, if you can ride a bike in a straight line, you'll never come off the rollers. You can add a little trail so your bike will be even more stable than it is on the road.

  • Did you really watch that closely? Virtually all the spills looked harmless and as tester said, if you're close to a wall when you're learning the chances of falling over are almost nil.
