does it ever have mudguards on?
-
• #13381
Question for me? It has done occasionally.

How do I get this orange axle off the spider? Does it need a weird propriety lockring tool?

Remove the crank bolt then use the crank arm extractor tool kt13(?) to remove the axle
-
• #13384
I am positive I have the correct lock ring tool (and the crank extractor tool) for that.
-
• #13385
Does the lock ring just hold the spider to the arm? If so I guess I just need the kt013 tool to remove the axle.
-
• #13386
I never got round to buying a kt013, so I just put the crank bolt for the opposing side in then drop a socket extension in so my extractor pushes against the end of it.

Anyone used/been impaled in the bum by one of these?

Good stuff

Have had one, the bottom part of the topper isn't that great on mine which has proven difficult to get the saddle level and torqued to specs (+-4Nm) without it moving around.
Could maybe be solved with griptape on saddle rails, but a genuine used Cdale popped up locally so got that instead.

I've used similar, main gripe was the rail clamps are quite far apart so there isn't much room for your saddle to move forward or back
-

Interesting both, thanks.
I've used the style of post before, I have 2 Tune posts in the parts bin but I was concerned that the quality wouldn't be up to par

First ride on the parts bin special to the off-licence for cider. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve had this frame for over two years now and have only just got around to fixing the downtube shifter mounts and putting it together.
Next job is wider tyres, a longer/nicer chain and Some mudguards.
Great to be back on downtube shifters and a ‘dale.

You can remove the arm from the axle with a standard crank arm puller. There are some demos on YouTube. I’ve done it multiple times and it works a treat.
@Dammit are you looking to get rid of the lockring tool? I need one and everywhere is out of stock. I’d be interested in buying.
That Saeco above is very good.

You’ve got another one? or for sale? I know someone looking for a 56.

Sorry mate haven't got another one. Both mine are 52.
Since I'm monitoring ads every now and then there are 56s for sale quite often. (UK eBay and German Local ads eBay).
that stem and those levers are ridiculous! But in a good way. Is it a zipp sprint??
