  • A fancy Pompino, then (in the best possible way). Isn't £500 a little steep though? Not that there's much else in the market to compare it with.

  • Cheap as chips - looks at watch - was 10 years ago, sadly.

  • To be fair I don't think the brand has massively increased its margin, but I wouldn't think of them as a budget option now.

  • I did get certain discount due to being in the cycling industry.

And no, posting in LFGSS doesn’t count as an industry.

    My Seta was ironically cheaper!

  • Hah, and £300 isn’t cheap as chip!

  • Yeah that's super nice.

  • re: other things in the market

I was thinking about pre-ordering the omnium cxc v2 - but cant really justify it over my current fixed.

Annoyingly the price isn't up on their site anymore - but I remember it being close to £450 shipped to UK.

  • That’s a good shout, ultimately end up being more expensive having to changed a lots from existing bike.

  • @edscoble

Without the weird geometry and lack of provision.

I´m interested, what about the Steamroller geo you find weird?
The numbers seem fairly similar to my untrained eye. The higher BB location looks like a plus for the Allday.

Don’t forget front and rear rack mount too, and cable guide for rear
brakes, oh and chain tensioner, as well as the option to run canti
    bosses or long drop callipers.

I do agree the Allday do have some nice additions compared to the Surly.

  • @edscoble have you seen the stack and reach on all-day? it wont fit you (graciously).

  • Im riding a Seta with 400mm reach and 100mm stem, the Allday will be 90-85mm stem.

  • Geometry on larger sizes get a very slack seat tube which is very weird, it also extremely long and low, relatively speaking.

I got the 59cm one before and it was great, but the slack seat tube, long reach (408mm from memory) as well as the lack of provision didn’t help, might as well get a lightweight track bike that have an equally lack of provision (Seta) minus tyres clearance.

I do like the lower BB of the Steamroller, make it nicer on daily ride.

  • Hmm kinda wishing I ordered one of these now.

When are they being released? Can't find any info on their website

  • https://omniumcargo.dk/future-stock/ - but I think their plans must have changed.

There were CXCs listed for November when I emailed them start of last month, and they told me to check the newsletter for the pre-order date (but I could have missed it).

  • Wish I could run brakes on this...

Sorry for posting despite the lack of calipers and hoods, but I'm a big fan of this thread and it had a big influence on me

  • If only the SSCX thread was kept to such a standard

  • That’s brilliant.

  • Basically a HHSB with frames bag and bottle cage adaptor to be frank.

  • Just fitted this GRX chainset and full 3/32” drivetrain. Now on 42x14 which works out just the same as my previous 48x16. Also upgraded to a new Condor carbon steerer fork and overall the bike feels a chunk lighter. Happy with it.

    Well and truly #scobled

  • Rid the rear brakes, and fit road front wheel and it’ll be lighter

  • My favourite thing about riding track bikes on the road is the Q factor.

    151mm >>>>

    That’s a whole bunch of bananas 🍌

  • Bit Lampardy round here innit.

  • Friday night is a tough crowd :)
