I've used the Pivot wall hangers, and then made up some wheel supports using lengths of timber and moulding, stained black.

That looks really good and might make my locking up fiasco a little easier. Like you i'd be happy to make up my own supports and the bottom bikes would be on the ground anyway.

Anyone use these and have any feedback?
Danhangar's and cycloc's look to be about £40 and you get the rests for the wheels too. Halfords ones are £7, no rests, but I'm sure it would be pretty easy to make something.
Seems a no brainer but any other suggestions?
