I'm interested in one of these 2 but know nothing about Garmins... I just need navigation i.e. to replace Komoot on my (dying) phone and last longer, all day ideally. Either of these would do, right? How long's the battery on the Etrex? I'd need to buy the data cable and mount for the Edge 500? Charger for both? Sorry for questions! Cheers.

Hi Adam, the Etrex is your best bet. It’s a brick of a device, but runs on 2 x AA batteries that should give you 24 hours of navigation. You can plug in a micro SD card with Open Street maps loaded. It will give you a line on a colour map like in the photo.

De-cluttering my stockpile of Garmin devices...
Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music/HR/GPS watch - only 5 month old and used a handful of few times. Perfect condition and incredible battery life - around 4-5 days with all day use. Comes with original box and charger. NOW SOLD
Garmin edge 130 with little use as mostly using the turbo nowadays. Excellent battery life and comes with the dual Bluetooth HR monitor. Comes with original box and usb charger plus bag of handlebar attachments which I never used as I use a k-edge mount (not included). NOW SOLD
Garmin Etrex HCX Vista in used but still functional condition. The screen is a little scratched but still viewable. Comes with USB data cable and handlebar mount. SOLD
Garmin Edge 500 - still working really well with a good 10-hours battery life. £40 posted. (Cadence sensor sold)
