It isn't really. The Submariner has never ceased production since it's introduction as far as I'm aware, so it's been a constantly evolving design. No recreation here.

You’re right, it is still in production since the first one, even thought the original look nothing like the current one.

You could argue that the current submariner is more a dress watch than a tool watch (even thought it is technically a tool watch) not too dissinil To the current 62MAS reissues.

Are you joking, Ed? How can you say they don't look anything alike?

If anything, the 124060 looks even more like older designs now that the bracelet has a more significant taper.
