Wish I'd known about those a couple of months back, couldn't find another Surly cog so went all out on a Wolf Tooth job, nice but pricey... It isn't even black!?!

Is there any cheaper alternative to Surly Tuggnut for tensioning the chain in track ends of Longitude, compatible with QR axle? I already have Allen key skewers.

This is like a write up of my current thoughts. Thanks for sharing

I remember looking at there's lots of cheaper variations. Ebay stuff like "chain tug" "chain tensioner"?

I have had a couple of those cheaper ones break on me. Both no name ones eBay and origin 8 ones from eBay as well. I've found that the best ones are NJS chain tugs. They look the part and seem pretty sturdy for their low weight.
EDIT:
@Prz i have not been impressed with this type:
I have had the threads pull twice. But I might have been a bit clumsy. Overtightening shouldn't be a problem with chain tensioning.
I am currently using this but modified to fit my dropouts:

Funny. I broke my NJS MKS ones when they were on the track bike.
I wouldn't buy the cheap ones, but I wasn't the one asking the question. :)I use a Suly on the Inbred. It's tough, quite adjustable and works.

Àll those cheap ones are for 10 mm axle, so they are ruled out even before quality is considered as I have QR wheelset, so I will just buy the Surly one then.

If they have the little bit that projects into the slot part of the dropout (most do) then they can still work with qr type axle.

Can we expect to see a super-slack bike built for Denmark's North Shore trails soon?

I feel a bit confused now, I was considering that Pace RC529 for a hot minute and nearly ordered but I think 140mm recommended travel plus the slack HT is going to be too trail specific for my needs. The RC627 would be ideal if I hadn't already bought 29er wheels.
Maybe I should just wait for the Chameleon to be delivered in Jan.
Deffo. That's why I moved to those Velosolo Andel/Surly cogs.
