lols. just have to hang them artfully low from the ceiling over your bedside tables and gram that with the Live Laugh Love vinyl filling the gap between them instead.

Another good shout, but we actually don't want much light going into the hallway as it goes straight into my eyes in the bedroom down the hall. I could try closing our door but my cat is a massive prick and has a tantrum every time we do.
Planning glass at the top of the wall everywhere except the door for the storage area. -

let me tell you about the time the bulb in my flos pendant exploded and threw a projectile out that shattered the globe as it flew into the room. nice start to the day that was
for bathroom lighting we used IKEA östanå series, which (i) are cheap and (ii) have a nice retro-futurist look

Looks like it’s covered in Dove pills !
-
• #24582
I’d be keen to try this. Was it tricky getting the glass in?

@chrisbmx116 Have you seen that Nathalie du Pasquier has just designed some new tiles?

I dare not look at the price

As in your bathroom tile mock up

they pretty
when we bought our bathroom tiles, the guy at the shop just looked at us indignantly and said "yous sure you want these ones? these are the ones the council use."

Tiling chat: in a kitchen, when tiling the wall behind the hob: tile up to the base of the extractor hood, or to the top of the hood?
-
• #24588
Base of the hood, assuming that is a horizontal line and the hood is fixed to the back wall.

Some of those council stairwells doh..
We just got Johnson’s prismatics for our bathroom.
Next time defiantly up for some rich orange burnt coloured ‘council’ ones

The door we bought with panels. I don't remember the transom being especially hard - I think it's just held in with beading on each side. Maybe sealant as well but I don't think so.

Is buying this slightly knackered looking mixer bad value? Seems fairly priced at £85, assuming it works. I only need it to last long enough to put in some footings and mix up some like mortar for my walls. Spray over of rust-oleum and it should last the winter covered right?

I bought a much worse looking one than that 3 years ago, gave £50 for it, has been kept outside for most of that time, covered with a tarp and dumpy bag, has never missed a beat. If the drum is round and not rusted through, and the engine spins it, you are good for a few years yet.

Cheers, that's reassuring. I'll go check it out if it's still there tomorrow.

• #24594
Yup. Any reason other than aesthetics?

• #24595
Not that I know of.

Theres none that look like a definite match, but you will find one that's close enough.
the 2mm throat will hook in behind a small lip inside the frame so it doesn't fall out.The 3mm is how much gap is remaining between the glass and frame. Too loose and it will keep falling out, too big and it will be a sod or impossible to fit. Definitely not the reddilock.
R9227 is quite a soft rubber
I don't have any of the corded wedge but there's 3 that maybe usable
The sample packs have small 10cm sections, which I find too short to get a good idea. Order a metre

OHHH hadn't seen them, they are punchy for sure!
I was thinking Claybrook for tiles unless, prob square ones in a pale pink, unless someone has a smarter suggestion... https://www.claybrookstudio.co.uk -

Love the "yous", classic Northern bants.

Spray over of rust-oleum
Assuming that metal isn't so thin as to immediately fall through, I'd save the money. Just spray whatever wd40 type product you have lying about before you cover it up.
The one the LL's builders left in our garden at uni was in worse state than that and it was still perfectly serviceable as a rotating fire pit in the summer.

Yes, the best thing to coat it with on the outside could well be old engine oil, it is what we throw round our old tractor trailers to keep the rust at bay.
Oh, one other thing we did was (opaque) glass panels in the door and a transom window above, to get natural light into the little landing. That's worth doing if the hallway has no windows.
