  • Sorry, lazy term ‘sank’. Maybe not the greatest in terms of impact or sales, but good solid products that ran their course and phased out. ....’Wardrobe domestiques’?

  • My personal regret remains not buying enough of the thermosuit. Great item. Irreplaceable.

  • thermosuit

I like mine too, but find the pockets annoyingly small for winter rides with gloves.

  • mr mottram pls bring back the winter onesie

  • It keeps you warmer when you're not moving, which is good if you're like me and get perilously cold the second you stop riding. It stops me from shivering like a whippet at coffee stops. I also like the hi-viz stripes.

  • I think I'm going to buy the Brevet insulated jacket when I get paid. Am I right in thinking that's probably my best bet for something quite versatile that I can wear with a thin base layer/ regular jersey when it's mild and a couple of warmer layers when it's cold? To be honest, I'm struggling to work out the main practical differences between all of the jackets!

  • Ooooo yeah, thermal aerosuit, good one..... {misty-eyed gaze} ....before you even put it on, pulling out that galvanised suit gets you in a great headspace for adverse weather 😍

  • City Wind Jacket too! Love mine, but one of the worst sellers of all time.

Was a sad day when I didn't put down a buy for the 3/4 (Fixed) Shorts - they were my first ever Rapha purchase - and full price with my own money! Still have a couple of pairs for occasional use, though have had to clear out most of the Rapha wardrobe now.

  • and a couple of warmer layers when it's cold?

With just a SS jersey beneath, I reckon I'm comfortable in mine down to about 5c on a decent pace road ride. Base layer and/or LS beneath and you could go less, it's quite wind proof.
    I just really rate it

  • the winter onesie

We've got something similar in development for next winter (not Rapha). Being tested by the team at the moment.

  • Sounds ideal, thanks for that!

  • I've actually just broke the bottom zip pull on mine after a lot of use. Might buy another

  • How would you say the sizing is on it? I'm normally somewhere between a small and a medium. I'm thinking I'll order a medium so that it's not super tight with a couple of layers underneath.

  • assuming the zip mechanism still works, might be a cheaper to loop a wee cord zip pull through the remaining hole. I did the same when I broke the zip pull off my pro team wind jacket. sorry I know that's not very #buyer

  • I wear a small in everything, though my recent lack of riding has me wandering towards medium. It's not pro team tight but still a fairly close fit, which is what I wanted

  • That would be the sensible thing to do! I'll see what I can do

  • Good point, I've got plenty of nature's insulation and generally run a little warmer.
Hi-viz stripes can do one though.

  • Anyone know when the Shakedry printed jacket is dropping? I'm not RCC and don't want to pay eBay prices but probably inevitable. Any other waterproof, packable, lightweight and bright rain jacket recommendations?

  • Pushed back slightly.

  • Thanks. Fingers crossed they'll not be OOS and on eBay for 30% more by the time the prols can buy!

  • I've spent the last week looking at the shakedry options. Still no nearer making a real decision. The Gore 1985 comes with the bright coloured panels for daytime visibility but these are not in the shakedry material so wonder on the impact of the storage pack size.
The Castelli Idro has the printed 'Castelli' in reflective print and a red trim running down the sleeve, can't see if they are reflective and frankly they are not that bright for daytime visibility.
I think I'm settling on the Rapha version, but the daytime visibility in poor weather is not improved by a totally black jacket.

  • I too am struggling to understand the differences between the various wind blocker, insulated or thermal jerseys and jackets. Got a wind blocker brevet and an insulated gilet. But wonder what I'm missing with the other options as we get colder weather.

  • I have an idro and non of it is reflective . It is however totally waterproof .

  • Do the physical shops tend to have fairly good stock? I'd like to try a Brevet on in medium and small to see which fits best.
