I'm about to place an order with SJS for some bits; what are the FBNPNA parts I'm always forgetting to add to the order that I should try and remember this time? Cargo nets, reflectors, etc.?

Cables, housing, inner tubes/sealant.

Flaps. Problem solvers front light mount, Sheldon bolts, fender flute. The 15 quid canti rack. Strap on water bottle bosses. Bolt on rack eyelets. Extra big bottle cage. Dynamo wire. Helicopter tape.

This is what i had planned for my partner. But the mixte version for omnium was out of stock.

So what did you do?

Is there any front rack that I can fit to a standard steel road frame using mudguard eyes and pea clips?

Do you mean the eyes are behind the axle on the fork? Velo-Orange racks will work with spacers on most forks like that. As will the Nitto and/or Sim Works racks with adjustable struts. You may need to get longer struts, but they are readily available.

I'm not sure this best thread to ask this. I'm looking in to a bike for my girlfriend. She's not a cyclist so I'm after something functional as a mode of transport around London, 32c+ slick tyres, mudguards, flat bars probably. Probably something more hydbrid-y than anything else would be ideal but I'm open to any suggestions!
It's probably worth mentioning that she's pretty short, about 150cm. Would a bike with a smaller wheel size be beneficial? I'm not really sure where to start looking but the Kona Dew looks decent, comes with 650b wheels as well.
As I said, I'm open to any suggestions because I'm not sure where to start narrowing down the selection from! Needs to be available on the cycle to work scheme as well.

my wife has a genesis skyline 20, and I've been amazed by it. the gearing is perfect, brakes work really well, it's not that heavy and loads of mounts so mudguards and racks are easy to fit. Also has a very sloping tt so good stand over clearance. if you can find one of those, I'd stongly suggest that.

The Skyline doesn't appear to be available any more! That's probably the sort of thing I should be looking at though. Has anyone got any experience with the Genesis Brixton? Low maintenance hub gears seem like a bonus.
