That is very nice indeed.
And thanks all for the kind words.
Our offer was put in back in June. Feels like a world away.
On the plus side- the delay has allowed us to wrangle the price down by roughly the cost of a garden studio/ bike den/ gym/ 'office'. -

Congrats Henry

The other possibility is that you came into contact with someone, and spent time with them, at say a dinner, and therefore had both searched it and initiated the conversation because it was on their minds. This then is shared with other devices as part of a shared experience so it's now in your advert parameters.
You're getting the advert because they searched for it.

Is there a Forum recommended, hand held vacuum?
Need something to keep near the door to quickly suck up the dirt that get trodden in before we remove our boots from walking the dog, and to whizz round the car.
Have a full sized vacuum for the rest of the house, but its a PITA to go get it for such a small task (1st world flexing I fear)[Not Dyson, because he is a) a cunt and b) a cunt]

Standard reply of : Shark (cordless).
Maybe you can get a hook to hang it on the wall there? I don't know, I need to check that myself

Ah yeah, fair point, they are rubbish at picking up leaves, but for how easy it makes getting mud crumbs by the door I don't mind picking up the odd leaf as I go. Still quicker than lugging Henry out.

It seems Shark have sorted the two issues I have with ours; it’s tendency to wrap hair around the front roller and the short battery life, in their latest version. At least that’s what the advertising says.

Uh - that's why you have leaf blowers
-
• #37819
lol
i like to blow them into a pile and burn them in my backyard with a mattress for kindling.
so warming!

For cordless vacumm chat. I have the Vax Blade 2 Max. 40 beefy volty bois. I don't think suction on a handheld is ever going to be as strong as corded, but the 40v makes the powered brush head actually pretty terrifying. I have intrusive images of losing a toe. I've still kept the upright (also a Vax, hence getting the same brand for cordless so the accessories all interchange) for mega cleans.
If I was replacing it, I would probably go with their new "ONEPWR" range as that has replaceable batteries. The Blade 2 Max has about enough juice to properly clean my 2 bed flat on the "boost" power setting. Although, it's not amazing on hard floors, tbh. If you use it with the brush spinning, it can sometimes just chuck bits away from the sucky up area. It does have a neat mount/hanger that allows me to store it in a nook out of the way, next to a socket.

I can wholeheartedly say do not buy Hoover handhelds... they are shit.
I've had two, and you'd think I'd have learned my lesson after the first. They have very little power to lift dirt, and the dust compartment needs emptying mid-clean, battery is OK though (but then - no power for a good clean) and they are a little unwieldy (so doing the car carpets is a pain to get in the crevices).
I also have a Roomba, which is meh... but the ability to run it often, i.e. whenever I go for a walk, turns out to be it's super power. Something can be meh if it runs frequently. But for the price, not really worth it, and requires a rather thorough clean of the Roomba after each use which means it's not a time saving device, it just shifts the work from cleaning the floor to cleaning the Roomba - I mention the Roomba because one of my most frequent uses of the handheld is actually to clean the Roomba.
Fi has a Dyson cordless thing which you can use handheld... it's insanely good. But I don't wish to buy anything Dyson.
I'll carry on with the Hoover for ad-hoc clean, but when that fails I'll replace it.
Shortlist I have for a future replacement or a cordless / handheld given I only use the Hoover for small patches and to clean the car and Roomba:
- Shark https://amzn.to/3ot3gnX
- Miele Triflex https://amzn.to/2Tt2pp3 (but really this is just cordless being used for small tasks)
- Shark https://amzn.to/3ot3gnX
It has been a struggle.
But now not much can go wrong- I think.
