I think if your looking to ride rocky ascents on a gravel bike with such a low gear ratio on a rigid bike, the lack of momentum and traction might get you first.
No one likes pushing but some times you've just got to suck it up. I'm just wondering if the route in question has climbs that are worse than the marginally possible climb in Swinley.
I've no idea about Swinley but I've been able to climb everything in the UK. Get a couple of days into Badlands though and throw some big rocks on a relatively benign gradient and I'm too fucked to pedal.
