I think if your looking to ride rocky ascents on a gravel bike with such a low gear ratio on a rigid bike, the lack of momentum and traction might get you first.
No one likes pushing but some times you've just got to suck it up. I'm just wondering if the route in question has climbs that are worse than the marginally possible climb in Swinley.
Badlands. Yeah, I did quite a lot of walking, and I don't like it. My theory is that if I can at least attempt to ride this steep, rocky kind of thing I'll get better skills and won't have to dismount and walk so often. I'm basically using my gravel bike as a mountain bike in races like this.
