  • So I gave Kobe the hint to check here

Already told him twice, I dont want the frame

Kinda feels like hes accusing me for this situation, but I still dont feel like hes doing much to prove hes innocent

  • This is almost as exciting as the current giro. I have to admit, I've met Kobe on several occassions and think he's a nice guy. I don't know him well though, so can't say it's impossible that he'd screw up in a way that most here think he did. But I can imagine that he has friends that lurk here and might sign up to make a remark that defends him. The post has been edited/removed, as I understand (why though?), but I'm really interested what it said. Feels like I'm watching an HBO detective series and I've missed the second episode. Anyway, sub'd.

  • It accused de5iRe of getting back the frame and selling it as kobe to frame him

Edit.. suggested would be more accurate than accused

  • Dude you haven't caused this for him. Hes had a lack of interest in all of this and we all made assumptions and connections because of a lack of information.

If he can't see how suspect the whole situation is, don't worry about it. He could of shown some more interest in finding out the person who supposedly used his identity.

  • Ha! Sounds like he/she was "just asking questions". Thanks. Strange though it was removed.

  • I think it all might have been a bit different were he an active member of the forum (by which i mean posting in threads other than the classifieds section). The feeling i've always got from the forum has been that if you're just a classifieds lurker in the way that he clearly is, you're already wearing thin your welcome.

  • He/she was definitely not just asking questions.

  • Yeah I can see that. I was just trying to let de5iRe know he hasn't done anything wrong and kobe was actually given a chance to be part of the conversation.

  • Yes well I meant in a steve bannon kind of way

  • I realised after I missed the quotations!

  • Yeah, I’ve been thinking it was kind of presumptuous of Kobe to think you’d want the frame back.

The whole situation stemmed from you selling the thing in the first place and who knows where would you be left legally and financially if you got it back?

Having to reimburse PayPal/dhl was it?

Might the legal position would be that the frame no longer belongs to you?

  • Any dibs yet on the faggin lopro?

  • My comment was supposed to sound more like i was agreeing with you than I think it actually did :-)

  • Aha, sorry! I'm having a day of misreading things

  • Am I misreading the situation or are the only people out of pocket at the minute DHL/ PayPal?

  • Correct.
Not sure what the usual process is once insurance has paid out over a stolen item if said stolen item is found.

Returning the frame gives the original seller a headache.

  • Kobe would be out of pocket if their story is straight and true

  • What a twisted web.

  • Wouldn’t it make sense to present the case facts to DHL & Paypal and let them investigate it or report it to the police?

  • I think de5iRe doesn't want the hassle and was only leaving a bad trader post. The forum has escalated it. In the first few posts de5iRe explains this.

  • I'm done dealing with this man via IG , since its not helpful in any way.

As in his opinion people here are beeing judgemental kids, he has no time to read whats posted on here.

We'll see if he will post anything helpful here or not. For now hes dealing with this he says

  • i think it's up to him to clear his name. his reaction has been completely baffling. if i found out someone had sold a stolen frame under my business's name, i'd be on to the police asap.

he was just like "yeah idk it's weird. so weird. who knows what happened? anyway i'll shell out 900 euros to sort this out even though it's nothing to do with me. weird."

  • I think most people, if actually innocent, would realise all solid facts made them look guilty and would try a lot harder to help work out the truth.

He hasn't done that and to now try and guilt trip you and act like a victim doesn't help himself.

Best leave him be as he's never going to answer you clearly.

  • Since it's such a small amount of money (for them), DHL & Paypal wouldn't investigate anything, they'll just take the loss and move on even if there's evidence they were cheated.

This reminds me of when I worked for HP and had a guy basically steal the best gaming desktop PC we sold at the time, which cost £5k+ iirc. There was plenty of evidence that we had been cheated but upper management decided that just taking the loss would be more profitable than trying to get it sorted legally.
