  • I’ve done something to my ankle. Did 22k last Sunday night and incorporated some hill repeats at the end. Felt ok afterwards but The next day had some acute pain on the outside of my left ankle.

Let it rest a bit and then a couple of days ago went out for a quick lunch time run and it was a achey but sort of fine until 4km in when it suddenly got quite painful indeed and I had to walk home wincing.

It’s been quite swollen and extremely sore since. Still very localised to the outside of the ankle and just above in an area maybe a couple of inches squared. It’s hard to walk.

Thinking maybe inflamed a tendon? It feels very different to a sprain in that it isn’t the whole joint. Bit concerned by the swelling tbh.

Maybe coincidence but it’s on the leg that overpronates and has a string of muscle hernias down the outside (they have never caused issues so maybe unrelated). Expect its to do with the pronation and running up and down hills at the end of a hard session.
