Dude you haven't caused this for him. Hes had a lack of interest in all of this and we all made assumptions and connections because of a lack of information.
If he can't see how suspect the whole situation is, don't worry about it. He could of shown some more interest in finding out the person who supposedly used his identity.

I think it all might have been a bit different were he an active member of the forum (by which i mean posting in threads other than the classifieds section). The feeling i've always got from the forum has been that if you're just a classifieds lurker in the way that he clearly is, you're already wearing thin your welcome.
