• I'm looking to get some plywood cut to size for a cabinet making project.
I want to get good accuracy, so I'm avoiding B&Q as that can be hit and miss.
Can anyone recommend a board cutting service? Willing to pay a bit more to ensure accuracy.

    Thanks,
    Pokey

  • I Use Brilliart in Woolwich. Awesome owner. High standards. Would recommend.

  • Fulham timber cut some MDF for me, which was within about 2mm, so close enough to make cupboards of reasonable cuboidness (cuboididity?). I didn't get them to make all the cuts though, just ripping the boards into long planks that I then cross-cut with a circular saw. Seemed to work fine and save me from an awkward job (straight 8ft cuts) that I might not have been able to manage.

Used these before for a fully online thing. Excellent service and spot-on accurate.

  • My local Alsford Timber cut accurately for pennies if the timber is bought from them, I admit to being trade and buy quite large quantities. I am not certain whether every branch has the machinery.

  • my local b+q has stopped board cutting at the moment (presumably covid related)

i think cutwrights do cut, edged and drilled timber to order online. CNC machined so pretty accurate

  • Thanks all, I’ll check out these options

  • I am in hackney central and looking for something similar.
for a 700x1100 piece I was quoted 40 at 18mm which seems over the top.
I would take a whole piece of ply and cut it if delivery/minimum order was not an issue.

  • perhaps try PJ Johnsons Timber on 020 8205 5000
